Valter Junior is a Red Education Check Point specialist trainer, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he has lived for most of his life.

Having started his career in technical support, Valter has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, including roles in server infrastructure administration, team leadership and pre-sales. In the last 10 years, he has also been a technical trainer.

Passionate about teaching

Above all, Valter is passionate about teaching.

“My motivation is always to use my knowledge to help someone achieve,” he explained. “One day I’ll be teaching Jiu-jitsu to a class of 15-year-old boys. The next day, I can be teaching Check Point to senior IT professionals who have been in their careers for more than ten years. It doesn’t matter to me, it’s the same thing. It’s always helping someone to achieve a goal and that’s my main motivation.”

In his free time, Valter devotes as much time as he can to sport. He runs, plays and teaches volleyball and practices the art of Brazilian Jui-jitsu. He also turns to music for relaxation, both listening and playing. He plays instruments used in traditional Brazilian Samba music, including the music of the famous Rio Carnevale. He enjoys listening to styles as varied as rock, jazz blues, electronic and pop. He prefers to own a hard copy of the music he buys, rather than streaming, and takes pride in a collection of over 200 CDs.
