Red Education Women in Cybersecurity Scholarships

WOMEN IN CYBERSECURITY SCHOLARSHIP

Women are significantly underrepresented in cybersecurity and the IT industry as a whole, holding only about a quarter of cybersecurity roles worldwide.

Cyber threats are escalating worldwide and the sector is struggling to recruit enough talent, with millions of unfulfilled cybersecurity roles worldwide, a shortfall that is predicted to continue for many years.

In response, Red Education introduced the Red Education Women in Cybersecurity Training Scholarships. These scholarships aim to highlight the gender gap, attract more women into the sector and give four promising women the opportunity to kick-start their careers with premium cybersecurity training programs.

The program provides four scholarships for entry-level certification – two for Check Point Technologies: Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) and two for Palo Alto Networks: EDU-210 Firewall Essentials – Configuration and Management. Students can complete PCNSA Certification after they have finished the EDU-210 Course or CCSA certification after completing CCSA training.

The scholarships are open for application from 1 April to 30 June each year and candidates are asked to provide a summary of their tertiary education and career details and also write 200 words about why they would be a deserving recipient of this scholarship. You can read the 2024 terms & conditions here.

WOMEN IN CYBERSECURITY SCHOLARSHIP - RED COURSES

EDU-210 Firewall Essentials – Configuration and Management

Participants must have a basic familiarity with networking concepts including routing, switching, and IP addressing. Students also should be familiar with basic security concepts.

This important course covers all the fundamentals to understand the Next-Generation FireWall from the ground up. Even experienced firewall engineers take a lot out of this course as it includes, besides the architecture and management essentials, topics like Application Identification, Content ID (IPS, Anti-Virus/-Spyware, URL Filtering, File Blocking), SSL Decryption and User Identification which are all features usually not supported by legacy firewalls.

Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)

This is open to anyone with a basic understanding of networking concepts and the desire to learn more about cybersecurity.

The Check Point CCSA certification training allows students to acquire essential knowledge in the key areas of firewall technologies, VPNs, malware protection, security monitoring and management, network architecture and design, encryption techniques, and more. In addition to gaining valuable job-ready talents, completing the course also serves as a badge of recognition, proving to employers and colleagues that you have the ability to design, implement, and manage an effective cybersecurity solution.
