Ningyi Tian is a senior member of our instructor team in China. Ningyi is based in Beijing, where he says that life returned to normal relatively quickly after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ningyi has extensive experience after 20 years in the IT sector. He started his career as a technical engineer before moving to Citrix where he was a trainer for eight years. After leaving Citrix to go out on his own as a freelancer, he crossed paths with Red Education and joined our growing team of experienced instructors.
A passion for teaching
Ningyi says that, while at Citrix, he discovered that teaching others is his passion. He likes the challenge of finding simple language to explain highly complex concepts in IT training. He also simply enjoys talking, saying that this contrasts with most engineers he has met who prefer to be silent behind their screens.
Ningyi is looking forward to teaching the technologies that Red Education specialises in. He has become certified in in F5 and is preparing for the exams to become a Palo Alto certified instructor.. In addition, he has a great interest in Nutanix and plans to become certified to teach these products especially in China.
He says the moment in his career that he has been most proud of in his career to date was being selected from all the APAC instructors to become a Master Trainer while he was with Citrix. This recognition was based on student reviews and Ningyi was the only trainer in China to be nominated.
Ningyi has been enjoying teaching some classes face to face since the pandemic as well as combining them with virtual classes. His certifications include:
VCP-DCV（VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization）
CCE-V / CCE-N / CCP-M（Citrix Certified Expert）
ITIL（IT Infrastructure Library）
PMP（Project Management Professional）
MCSE（Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer）
Renmin University of China – MBA
Tianjin University of Technology – Machinery Design and Manufacture
When he is not working, Ningyi loves getting out in the open air to enjoy his favourite pastime of hiking in the mountains. He likes traveling to the western regions of China which he says are much less densely populated that the major urban centres near his home. Ningyi has been hiking in Tibet three times.
At home Ningyi has a young daughter and enjoys spending time with her. This is his first child, and he hopes to have more in the future. He also hopes one day to be able to come and visit the Red Education offices in Sydney, Australia, to meet everyone there, now that he is part of the team.
