Konrad is a Senior Trainer and Consultant with nearly 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He has a vast array of skills in wired and wireless networking, security, routing, IP Telephony, data center technologies, and holds over 30 industry accreditations. Konrad is one of the few Aruba Certified Instructors globally. Konrad specialises in Arista, Infoblox, F5 and MobileIron.
Based in Manly, in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Konrad is one of Red Education’s most experienced instructors. In fact, along with our Chairman, Daniel Storey, he is one of the original founding team members who established Red Education over 15 years ago.
Although he has always worked in IT, Konrad’s first degree qualification was in the Humanities, specialising in Sociology and Anthropology. He then decided to study for a second degree in Business Computing and started his career working various integrators and vendors internationally as well as in Australia.
Sharing knowledge through training
Throughout his career, Konrad enjoyed talking to people and being able to share his knowledge and experience. This led him into training, where he was able to combine his IT background with the people skills he gained from his sociology degree.
Konrad has seen many changes in IT training, with 2020-21 bringing more than its share following the global COVID-19 outbreak. Having always taught online as well as face to face, however, Konrad didn’t find the transition to working fully online too dramatic. Like many of our instructors, however, he did miss travel and the opportunity to explore new cultures.
Living near the ocean, Konrad has appreciated his location more than ever since the pandemic. Even when in lockdown, he found that being restricted to a beachside suburb had its advantages, especially when the locals had it all to themselves.
Trekking, surfing and beach volleyball
When he’s not working, Konrad enjoys bushwalking and exploring the terrain of the area around Sydney. Hi trekking holidays have taken his love of the outdoors further afield, with one highlight being a trip to the Himalayas. At home, Konrad makes sure he walks 10,000 steps every day, taking in the scenery of his local beaches. He also enjoys making the most of living in Manly with surfing and playing beach volleyball.
As well as spending his spare time on and around the beach, Konrad is a drummer. He has played with blues and rock bands and enjoyed the interaction that came with live performances. Now, his main audience is classes of students instead. Maybe one day he’ll treat them to a drum solo!
