Mr. Zombie and Jackie Chan

Since 2020, Hon Ming has found himself at home in Malaysia much more than usual thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. He confesses that he is not a fan of the Malaysian climate and misses travel and airports. However, he has been enjoying being able to spend more time with his wife and two children.

Before the pandemic, Hon Ming traveled extensively. He didn’t use an English name when overseas, so his colleagues in Australia gave him one: Jackie Chan, or Jackie for short.

However, back home in Malaysia, Hon Ming has another nickname. He is known as Uncle Zombie. The name came from a game he played with his children in the local park, chasing them like a zombie. More children joined in and his fame soon grew, with local parents even approaching him in the street to ask if he was ‘Mr Zombie”.

Hon Ming is passionate about his family and describes them as one of his greatest influences, inspiring him to work hard to provide them with a comfortable lifestyle. When he’s not at work or with his children, Hon Ming likes to be active, with swimming, cycling and Tai Chi.
