Certification exams are administered at the end of the course. The exam is a 60-minute closed-book exam, with 40 multiple-choice questions taken online. The candidate requires a minimum of 24 correct answers to pass the exam. Exam results are known immediately and an online certificate will be presented in the student portal.

Certification & Accreditation

Candidates who successfully pass the exam will receive the official Data Centre Foundation Certificate. The certification is valid for three years after which the student needs to re-certify.

DCFC® is globally accredited by EXIN, a fully independent exam and certification institute.

The CDCP® (Certified Data Centre Professional) is a 2-day course is designed to expose participants to the key components of the data centre.

CDCP® training will address how to setup and improve key aspects such as power, cooling, security, cabling, safety etc. to ensure a high-available data centre. CDCP® training will also address key operations and maintenance aspects.

CDCP® is the first training in the EPI Design and Build training track under the EPI Data Centre Training Framework.

The primary audience for the CDCP® course is an IT, Facilities or Data Centre Operations professional working in and around the data centre (representing both end-customers and/or service provider/facilitators) and having responsibility to achieve and improve hi-availability and manageability of the Data Centre, such as: Data centre managers, Operations / Floor / Facility managers, data centre engineers, network/system engineers/data centre sales/consultants.

Prerequisites

Certified Data Centre Specialist (CDCS®)

CDCS® (Certified Data Centre Specialist) is a 3-day advance level for training data centre design/build professionals.  The CDCS® course will cover engineering calculations on the various components in a data centre facility.  CDCS® will further increase attendees’ competences to a level of a compatible sparring partner with suppliers and verify offers provided by vendors for correctness, effectiveness and efficiency.

CDCS® is the second training in the EPI Design and Build training track under the EPI Data Centre Training Framework. Participants must hold a valid CDCP® certificate in order to be able to register for the CDCS® class. CDCS itself is a pre-requisite for persons wishing to achieve the CDCE® status.

Course Overview

Certified Data Centre Expert (CDCE®)

CDCE® is the premier certification for data centre professionals in the data centre design/build and related fields. This 5-day course is designed to prepare participants to analyse a given business case and perform technical evaluation for a project plan and a set of designs for the implementation of a mission critical data centre.

The course also engages participants in product evaluations and demonstrates how to select equipment and develop equipment test scripts (IET) and integrated performance and validation testing (IPVT). CDCE® builds upon knowledge gained in CDCP and CDCS courses. Participants who pass the exam will join the industry’s elite data centre project design experts.

CDCE® is the highest level training in the EPI Design and Build training track under the EPI Data Centre Training Framework. Participants must hold a valid CDCS certificate in order to be able to register for the CDCE class.

Part B is a 90-minute closed book exam, with 25 open questions. For Part B the candidate needs to obtain a minimum of 75% to pass.

Data Center Foundation Certificate (DCFC®)

With few exceptions, enterprises today rely on IT for the delivery of business-critical services – often directly to the end consumer. It is therefore vital that the mission-critical data centre is designed, maintained and operated with high-availability and efficiency in mind. Among all the facilities, network cabling is the foundation for the network and one of the major contributors to the availability of the data center.

Data centre facilities operations management have proven to be the key differentiator between a data centre that is performing well or badly. The old believe that a fully redundant data centre facility will save the day is no longer true as many research outcomes have revealed that the majority of downtime is caused by the human factor. Policies, processes, procedures and work instructions should be carefully developed, ideally following relevant standards, to ensure an effcient and effective data centre operations which are also compliant to the required regulations.

Prerequisites

Exam

Exam: Certified Data Centre Environmental Sustainability Specialist (CDESS®)

Attendees will take a 1-hour CDESS® exam. The exam is 40 questions, multiple-choice, closed-book. The passing mark is 27 out of 40.

Certification & Accreditation

Attendees passing the exam will be awarded the internationally accredited and recognized ‘Certified Data Centre Environmental Sustainability Specialist (CDESS®) certificate.

CDESS® is globally accredited by EXIN, a fully independent exam and certification institute.

The CDESS® certificate is valid for 3 years, after which recertification is required.  Please see the EPI Recertification Program for available options.

Course Overview

Certified Data Centre Risk Professional (CDRP®)

The CDRP® is a 2-day course is designed to expose attendants to the overall risk management process. Focus is on both the data centre infrastructure and the physical data centre facility and equipment; the attendant will learn how to identify and quantify risk in their organization, creating the ability to reduce the risk to a level acceptable for the organization. The course is based on international standards (ISO/IEC27001:2005) and guidelines (ISO/IEC27005:2011, NIST800-30, ISO/IEC31000) and will additionally prepare the candidate being able to take part and assist in corporate certification processes that may apply.

Audience

The primary audience for this course is an IT, Facilities or Data Centre Operations professional working in and around the data centre (representing both end-customers and/or service provider/facilitators) and having responsibility to achieve and improve hi-availability and manageability of the data centre, such as: Data centre managers, Operations / Floor / Facility managers, IT managers, Information security managers, Security professionals, Auditors / Risk Managers / Professionals responsible for IT/corporate governance.

Prerequisites

There is no specific prerequisite for the CDRP® course. However, participants who have at least three years’ experience in a data centre and/or IT infrastructures will be best suited. This experience may come from a business or IT background where the participant has knowledge of both environments, and understands the mission of their organisation. Attendance of CDCP® is beneficial but not a requirement.

The CDMS® is a 2-day course is designed to expose participants to a step-by-step methodology which will enable them to reduce the risks involved when undertaking a data centre migration. It will also give participants a lot of valuable practical hints and tips by trainers having extensive experience in moving and consolidating mission critical data centre.

Audience

The primary audience is an IT, Facilities or Data Centre Operations professional working in and around the data Centre (representing both end-customers and/or service provider/ facilitators) and having to deal with Data Centre Migration Projects and/or Data Centre Strategies, such as: Project Managers, Data Centre managers, Operations/ Floor /Facility managers, IT managers, Network/System Engineers, Data Centre Sales/Consultants, Logistic Managers.

Prerequisites

Course Overview

Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant (CTDC®)

In three-day CTDC® course, the participant will learn how to design an ANSI/TIA-942 compliant data centre. It will provide a clear understanding of the requirements of the ANSI/TIA-942 Standard and possible implementation variations. This course is well suited for all types of data centres, be it enterprise data centres or multi-tenant, third party data centres such as co-location, managed services and cloud service providers.

Audience

The primary audience for this course are professionals involved with designing, building, maintaining and operating mission critical data centres and those who wish to attend the CTIA® (Certified TIA-942 Internal Auditor) course.

Prerequisites

Participants must possess a valid data centre training certificate such as CDCP®  or any other approved equivalent. Please submit a copy of your certificate for verification upon registration for the CTDC® course.

Exam: Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant (CTDC®)

The CTDC® exam is a 90 minutes closed-book certification exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50 correct answers to pass the exam.

Certification & Accreditation

Candidates who successfully pass the exam will receive the official ‘Certi­fied TIA-942 Design Consultant’ certificate.  The CTDC® certificate is issued for the ANSI/TIA-942 version current at the time, which the candidate tested for.  The certificate itself does not expire and stays relevant only for the stated ANSI/TIA-942 version.

CTDC® is world-wide accredited by EXIN.

Certified TIA-942 Internal Auditor (CTIA®)

The CTIA® course is a 2-day intensive course builds further on the technical understanding of the standard acquired in the CTDC® (Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant)course. It enables participants to develop skills and knowledge to conduct an internal audit program by applying widely recognised audit principles, procedures and techniques which are aligned with the ISO-19011 auditing guideline.

Audience

The primary audiences for this course are quality directors and quality assurance managers, managers responsible for the governance of an enterprise and management of its risks, technical experts, project managers and consultants, internal auditors, compliance officers and virtually anybody involved in ANSI/TIA-942 compliance certification related projects either from an end-user or vendor perspective.

Prerequisites

Participants must hold a valid CTDC®  certificate in order to be able to register for the CTIA® class.
