Challenges

The customer was a large Australian University migrating to Palo Alto Networks. As the university was new to Palo Alto Networks, none of the team had previous experience with the PAN firewalls. In this largescale project, multiple teams needed to be upskilled, including the University’s Cyber Security team and the Network Services team.

solutions

  • We participated in scoping calls with the client to identify the relevant course that would help the team successfully manage the firewalls after migration.
  • We shared insight and details on the learning pathways to help the university identify the team members that needed to be trained and which courses were required (EDU_210, 220 & 330, and future XSOAR requirement).
  • We have a simple ‘next steps’ process making registration straightforward for the client. We could confirm the availability of training immediately and be agile enough to troubleshoot any changes easily.
  • We provided a training plan allowing the program to be carried out over a timeframe that reduced the impact on the organization while the team was training, while still meeting internal timelines.

Outcomes

50% of the training plan was implemented successfully in 2021, and the remainder in 2022

The client Project Manager was highly appreciative of the patience and effort displayed by the Red Education team
