Amazon Web Services and Red Education announce Malaysian Training Partnership

New opportunities for Malaysian IT professionals to upskill with critical cloud-based security training programs, addressing the skill gap threatening Malaysian businesses

Important opportunities for Malaysian IT professionals and students to upgrade their skills in vital cloud security are now available, thanks to a new deal signed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and global cyber security training specialists Red Education.

Red Education is now an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training Partner (ATP) in Malaysia. This new partnership allows students to participate in Malaysian AWS-Certified Courses in the local language, delivered by local instructors.

Red Education Malaysia office opens

The announcement follows the opening of the new Red Education office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, spearheaded by Najwa Junazli, to assist with local enquiries and support partners like AWS.

The listing of this new office will make working with Red Education easier for Malaysian business and government clients, who can now transact in the local currency and be supported by an experienced technical training sales specialist with her in-depth understanding of the local environment.

Cloud implementation and the security skills gap

The partnership with AWS comes in response to growing interest from the IT sector in cloud implementation and the associated security issues that emerge as businesses rush towards hybrid or fully virtualised cloud solutions.

“Red Education is honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility. It is a testament to the strong reputation that our instructors have earned throughout the ASEAN region, known for delivering exceptional training including our existing Partner and Sales Framework to enhance sales outcomes.  We are trusted to protect and support AWS in this endeavour and make it a success for AWS, promoting their brand and training across the country,” Mike Baird, Managing Director at Red Education said.

“We welcome this opportunity to better promote AWS across this country whilst improving the AWS skills of local students. We offer students a simplified path to achieving their learning goals, allowing them to gain cloud skills that will improve their career prospects while supporting and protecting their organisations from cyber threats. Businesses can now easily access AWS training through the Red Education website to educate and certify their staff.

Almost two years ago, the world as we knew it shut down due to the pandemic. We leapfrogged five years of technological progress in the first 12 months as the world was forced online. It’s fascinating to see how quickly behaviours have changed, and that change is underpinned by IT technology and cloud services. There is a symbiotic relationship between the two, one supporting the other.

An explosion of data centres

There has also been an explosion of data centres worldwide. The data centre market was valued at USD 8.4 billion in 2020, and it is expected to reach USD 13.91 billion by 2026, registering a CAGR of 8.63% during the forecast period (2021-2026). This is fuelling the need for additional partners to support AWS in its growth strategies.

This growth also brings an overwhelming increase in demand for training as companies urgently seek to address the emerging skills gap. Red Education is perfectly positioned to support AWS in fulfilling that need,” said Mike Baird.
