Red Education named in 2022 AFR BOSS Top 10 Most Innovative Companies List

Today, Red Education is honoured to be recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in the prestigious annual list published by The Australian Financial Review BOSS.

We are delighted to be included in the top 10 in the Government, Education & Not-for-profit category from over 700 nominated organisations across Australia and New Zealand. The assessment is based on an innovation framework developed by Inventium. In making the award, the judges look at how valuable the problem is that the innovation is solving, the quality and uniqueness of the solution, and the level of impact that the innovation has had.

Red Education was thrilled to be recognised by AFR Boss for their custom-built virtual software lab environment.

“For the past seventeen years, Red Education has been working extremely closely with the cybersecurity community, its sole mission being to bridge the skills gap crisis facing the industry as a whole,” said Mike Baird, Managing Director at Red Education.

“Training cannot be underestimated.  Only just recently, Australia has witnessed its largest cyber security incident ever seen, with the fallout of data theft of almost 10 million customers in the telecommunications industry.

We’ve all seen the massive disruption this has caused our community, jeopardising the very process of customer identification.

We cannot ignore the importance of a highly skilled IT workforce anymore, otherwise, these situations will increasingly disrupt the very fabric of future society.  Through ongoing specialised certification training, we address the skills gap to minimise and restrict criminal activity that jeopardises our digital identity, and the disruption to global services and commerce,” said Baird.

“It is so encouraging to see Australian entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs continuing to come up with fresh ideas and executing them. Innovations such as those highlighted in the 2022 AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies list should help to propel our economy,” said Sally Patten, Editor at BOSS.

Red Education Custom Virtual Software Lab Environment

The accolade was awarded to Red Education in recognition of their custom-built virtual software lab environment.

Virtual labs simulate real-world software environments and are used at the end of every Red Education training course. We believe that this is the best method to reinforce learning, enabling students to test workflows and resilience to cyber-attacks safely before implementation in their workplaces. This provides tangible benefits to students and the businesses they work for, building confidence and competence and reducing risk. The virtual labs are built internally to support the vendor technologies that Red Education services and are hosted across numerous systems and locations to reduce latency and replicate a real-world environment.
